Rotted Framing Repair and Duration Re-Roof

Rotted framing repaired, full tear-off, Owens Corning Duration shingles.

This roof covered an attached section on a house with white siding and a brick and block lower wall. Once the old roofing came off, the framing along the edge was rotted through. We opened that corner up, and pulled the bad wood, with tarps laid out on the ground to catch the debris.

With the framing rebuilt and new sheathing patched in, we rolled out GAF FeltBuster synthetic felt over the deck. Then the Owens Corning Duration shingles went on in gray, working up from the eave with the bundles staged on the roof.

The last photos show the finished roof from the yard. The new gray shingles run clean from the eave to the ridge, with the white gutter and downspout in place.
