Brown Shingle Roof — Flashing Detail
June 2026 · 7 photos
Finished brown architectural shingles with clean wall and valley flashing.
This was a shingle job on a house with a main roof and a lower roof that runs along the sided walls. The lower sections are where a roof like this usually lets water in, so that is where we took our time. Up top, we finished the main field and worked the ridge cap across.
On the lower roof, we ran the brown architectural shingles right up to the siding and set dark metal flashing along every wall line. That flashing carries through the inside corners, behind the downspout, and past the window trim, so water has a clean path down and off the roof instead of behind the siding.
